Job Specifications
Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is looking for a Financial Controller to support its finance operations at the bet365 Stadium.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Financial Controller will be responsible for supporting the day to day management of an established finance team whilst encouraging a culture of accuracy, efficiency and control through a willingness to improve and refine processes across the Club.
Main Responsibilities
Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements of the Football League, Premier League, The FA and FIFA.
Financial reporting both internally and externally.
Managing the Club’s statutory and interim audits.
Critically analysing existing processes to identify areas of improvement in terms of accuracy, efficiency, timeliness and control.
Preparation of the Club’s annual budgets.
Liaising with key stakeholders within the business to assist in providing insightful analysis to encourage robust commercial decision making.
Assisting with the day to day management of the finance team.
Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
Demonstrably exceptional MS Excel skills with a desire to learn and apply Power BI, VBA and Python to finance and other business needs.
Previous experience of Sage 50 is desirable.
Previous experience in a football or other regulated sporting environment highly desirable.
Excellent time management and the ability to react and deal with a varied workload.
Ability to manage a team and lead by example with a friendly and positive manner.
The position will be offered on a full time basis. A degree of flexibility will be required to fulfill the role.
