Job Overview
6-Month Fixed Term Contract (Part-Time, 30 hours per week)
We are currently seeking a motivated and approachable individual to join the Bowel Cancer Screening team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. This part-time position is offered on a 6-month fixed term contract and supports the screening programme across both East and West Berkshire.
The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent organisational skills, the ability to multitask effectively, and a strong focus on patient care.
This role involves regular interaction with patients, clinical staff, and colleagues, so strong communication skills and a proactive, initiative-driven approach are essential. Main duties of the job
Provide advice, information, and support for those making direct contact with the screening centre.
Ensure timely access to screening colonoscopy or alternative diagnostic intervention and seamless transition to agreed pathways in primary, secondary, tertiary, or out-patient care settings, during all stages of the screening pathway.
Populate and maintain the BCSP local database.
Participate in ongoing data collection and quality assurance, service feedback and audit.

Good education to GCSE standard or equivalent to reflect numeracy and literacy skills
