Join Our Board at BADU Community CIC! – Independent Non-Executive Directors (INED)
BADU Community CIC is the ecosystem that catalyses systemic change through dynamic community inclusion. We are actively seeking active and passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors as Independent Non-Executive Directors (INEDs). Our aim is to bring diverse perspectives and expertise to the table, ensuring that our board reflects the communities we serve and supports our mission of creating positive and deep social impact.
We are currently recruiting for three specific roles, with a focus on the skills needed to strengthen our governance and strategic direction.
1. Independent Non-Executive Director – Fundraising & Grant Writing
Voluntary Role | 12 Hours per Month (including attending board and committee meetings, events, networking, and other relevant activities)
Skills & Expertise Required:
Significant experience in fundraising and development, particularly in the non-profit or community sectors.
Proven ability to lead fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, and secure funding from various sources.
Expertise in developing and implementing fundraising campaigns and ensuring sustainable financial support for the organisation.
A passion for community development and social equity.
A proven track record of successful bid writing.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute strategic oversight to the organisation's fundraising efforts.
Advise on fundraising strategies to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
Proactively support the expansion of BADU Community CIC's network of donors, partners, and supporters.
2. Independent Non-Executive Director – Safeguarding & Wellbeing
Voluntary Role | 12 Hours per Month (including attending board and committee meetings, events, networking, and other relevant activities)
Skills & Expertise Required:
Extensive experience in safeguarding, particularly in community, youth, or sports sectors.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
Knowledge of mental health and wellbeing strategies in a community or sports context.
Experience in creating safe, inclusive environments for participants and staff.
Ability to advise on and implement safeguarding policies that protect individuals and promote emotional and physical safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise on safeguarding practices and ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants, staff, and volunteers.
Support the development and integration of a trauma-informed approach throughout the organisation.
Provide guidance on safeguarding training and best practices, ensuring a supportive environment for all involved.
3. Independent Non-Executive Director – Marketing & Communications
Voluntary Role | 12 Hours per Month (including attending board and committee meetings, events, networking, and other relevant activities)
Skills & Expertise Required:
Proven experience in marketing, branding, and communications, ideally within the community or not-for-profit sectors.
Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media strategy, and audience engagement.
Expertise in developing and implementing inclusive communication strategies that reflect diverse communities.
Knowledge of brand development, reputation management, and public relations.
Ability to advise on creative content development across multiple platforms (e.g. web, social, print).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic oversight of the organisation’s marketing and communications efforts.
Support the development of clear, consistent messaging that aligns with BADU’s mission, values, and voice.
Advise on audience engagement strategies to enhance reach and visibility across key channels.
Contribute to the creation and evaluation of inclusive campaigns that celebrate and reflect the communities BADU serves.
Offer guidance on brand positioning, media relations, and stakeholder communications.
