Position: GCP Data Architect
Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Type: Contract (6 months)
Rate: £550 day (Inside IR35)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:
Join a leading financial institution's transformation program as a GCP Data Architect. You'll design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective data architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet strategic business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud-based storage solutions.
Design and implement scalable data architectures on GCP.
Optimize data processing, storage, and retrieval for performance and cost-efficiency.
Ensure security, governance, and compliance of data solutions.
Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand and fulfil data needs.
Essential Skills:
Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, hosting patterns & services (especially GCP), cloud security, resilience, and operational excellence.
Strong understanding of microservices, containerization, cloud-native, data architectures, and event-driven design concepts.
Proficiency in GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Data Fusion.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Desirable Skills:
Experience in the Banking & Finance industry.
GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification.
Knowledge of ML/AI and data capabilities in GCP.
Experience with agile development methodologies.
