**Freelance** - Senior System Engineer - Brussels

Role Summary:

A client of Koda Staff's is actively looking for a Senior System Engineer to design, maintain, and secure our clients IT infrastructure systems in a dynamic, international environment. You will support system performance, implement upgrades, and ensure security compliance.

Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and manage IT systems and infrastructure (servers, networks, storage, virtualization)
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency
Perform system upgrades, patches, and configurations
Implement security measures to protect systems against unauthorized access or attacks
Support disaster recovery plans and backup strategies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (network engineers, cloud specialists, developers)
Document system designs, configurations, and updates
Provide technical expertise during project implementations and migrations

Required Skills:

Proven experience as a System Engineer (5+ years preferred)
Expertise with Windows server environments (Linux is a big bonus)
Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS) is a strong asset
Microsoft Defender for Endpoint knowledge is a big bonus
Familiarity with networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPN)
Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python is a plus)
Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, etc.)
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Languages : English & French OR Dutch
