Job Description:
We are at the forefront of financial market infrastructure, providing continuous development and delivering cost-efficient, high-quality services to our customers. Our core business currently runs on HP NonStop Servers (Tandem), with communications infrastructure and message routing functionality implemented on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. We are embarking on an exciting journey to migrate our CREST system from COBOL programs on HPE NonStop Guardian to a new technology stack capable of running on Linux.

Responsibilities:
Migration Process: Lead the incremental migration from legacy systems to new Java-based technology using Kafka for integration. Ensure platform independence for services to run on OpenShift Linux environments.
Solution Design and Delivery: Define migration options and collaborate with various teams to recommend solutions. Deliver a coherent IT solution that meets both functional and non-functional requirements. Ensure alignment with enterprise engineering and architecture standards.
Collaboration and Security: Work with security teams to ensure the new solution meets security standards. Collaborate with infrastructure teams to establish technical and infrastructure design.
Standards and Prototypes: Establish guidelines, patterns, and standards for solutions architecture and design. Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate key components of the new architecture.
Leadership and Presentation: Lead the implementation of prototypes and subsequent work. Present proposed solutions to management, customers, and team members. Act as the technical authority for the new solution.
Requirements:
Technical Skills: Strong experience with Event Hub technology (Kafka) and modern architectures (SOA, microservices). Experience in developing platform-independent applications, especially on OpenShift or similar containerization platforms. Proficiency in database design (Oracle, SQL Server) and hands-on experience with Java and Object-Oriented Design.
Experience: Demonstrable experience across all stages of systems development (inception, budgeting, architecture, design, development, testing, implementation, and support). Experience working in regulated environments or financial market infrastructure.
Soft Skills: Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate teams. Strong collaboration skills with various stakeholders. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Proactive problem-solving approach and adaptability to dynamic environments.
Nice to Have: Knowledge of messaging standards (ISO 15022, ISO 20022, JSON). Experience with Agile methodologies. Familiarity with IBM MQ, Angular framework, HPE NonStop, and settlement systems (CREST).
