A well-regarded Tier 1 contractor is actively looking for a Freelance Commercial Manager to join its UK Construction North business unit, supporting the delivery of major civils and infrastructure projects in Birmingham.

Experience on hotels/ apartments / flats or high-rise residential is required.

This is a contract role, offered on a competitive CIS day rate, ideal for an experienced professional with a strong track record in commercial leadership across civil and infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities:
Liaise directly with clients, their representatives, and third parties on all commercial matters, including the agreement of variations and additional costs.
Oversee cost and value management, ensuring all financial systems and processes are robust and effective.
Identify and negotiate contractual terms and manage risk appropriately.
Lead cost reporting and provide commercial guidance to wider project teams.
Develop and implement cost control systems for direct works.
Analyse commercial data and performance trends, proposing strategic actions as needed.
Respond to evolving client and stakeholder expectations with proactive commercial solutions.

Ideal Candidate:
Holds a relevant third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 8 years' experience in commercial roles within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Strong working knowledge of Bonds, Warranties, and Insurances.
Proven financial management skills and analytical ability.
Excellent communicator with a collaborative approach to team and client engagement.
