Job Description

Job title: Application Migration Specialist (Contract) Role Summary: Lead planning, documentation, and execution of large‑scale application and infrastructure migrations within a cybersecurity compliance program, ensuring secure and compliant environments. Expectations: Deliver complete migration runbooks and validation plans while coordinating schedules, testing, cutovers, and post‑migration troubleshooting. Maintain accurate Disaster Recovery documentation and adapt to changing requirements. Support off‑hour migration tasks and ensure minimal business impact. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to capture technical requirements and assess existing configurations, dependencies, and integrations. - Design and produce migration runbooks, templates, and validation plans for diverse applications and servers. - Schedule and coordinate migration activities, including testing, cutover phases, and post‑migration issue resolution. - Analyze and refine authentication, security, and connectivity configurations (MFA/SSO, network settings). - Update Disaster Recovery documentation and verify compliance with security standards. - Perform reverse engineering of undocumented systems, document findings, and facilitate transition. - Provide technical support during off‑hour migration windows as needed. Required Skills: - Expertise in Windows Server, virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V), and Active Directory environments. - Proficiency in SQL Server, IIS, and integration scenarios with ERP, APIs, and ETL pipelines. - Experience in M&A migrations, disaster recovery planning, and complex system reverse engineering. - Strong scripting ability in PowerShell (and basic Linux shell) for automation and troubleshooting. - Solid understanding of authentication solutions (MFA, SSO) and secure connectivity. - Exceptional documentation, organization, and problem‑solving skills. - Ability to work independently in fast‑changing, ambiguous contexts and adapt to off‑hour schedules.
