This role is being offered as hybrid working based at any of our Core HQ's. We offer great flexible working opportunities at UKHSA and operate using a hybrid working model where business needs allow. This provides us with greater flexibility about how and where we work, to get the best from our workforce. As a hybrid worker, you will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of your contractual working hours (approximately 3 days a week pro rata, (averaged over a month) working at one of UKHSA's core HQ's (Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, and London)
Our core HQ offices are modern and newly refurbished with excellent city centre transport link and benefit from benefit from co-location with other government departments such as the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC).

Job Description
You will work in the Data Engineering and Enablement Division that reports into the Data and Digital Directorate and you will report into the Head of Engineering Enablement and Product. It's an exciting time to join as we seek to create leading Health Protection data capabilities that enable data scientists and data analysts to develop insights that inform public health decisions with resilience platforms and curated data assets.
The core activities of Engineering and Enablement include the ingestion of data sources, building data pipelines, curated data views and data capabilities fused from data, models and software that enable the exploitation of data by analysts, data scientists and MI teams.
The role within requires the facilitation of multi-disciplinary teams to develop a wide range of data assets, building acquisition, orchestration, data pipelines and curated data marts and data egresses. We are seeking to mature our advanced capabilities with standardised practices, machine learning and agility needed to pro-active detect and respond to new public health issues.

Our teams work collaboratively in an agile multi-disciplinary team mode, and we are looking for a Scrum Master to lead and optimise team/squad delivery performance and support the development of our engineering community of practice to share knowledge, enhance our standards and processes to provide a strong foundation to develop individuals, teams and innovation.
You will be responsible for the enablement and empowerment of squads to self-organise, self-manage and deliver in an agile way of working, through leading Agile ceremonies.
You will ensure that the teams you work with are functioning smoothly, by coaching and leading the team in Agile and Lean practices.
