Role: Chief Data Officer

Description

Owning and executing the enterprise-wide data strategy, ensuring alignment with business and technology goals.
Leading data governance initiatives, including compliance, and ethical use, while embedding data as a strategic asset.
Leading a virtual Data Centre of Excellence, fostering cross-functional collaboration.
Driving the adoption of modern data platforms and technologies (e.g. cloud-native, real-time streaming, AI/ML-ready environments).
Collaborating with engineering and architecture teams to design and implement scalable data architectures.
Acting as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, translating business needs into actionable data solutions.
Foster organisational buy-in for the data strategy and driving its effective implementation across the fir.
Establishing and maintaining structured ways of working, including documentation, process governance, and performance tracking.

About you

You have a proven track record in senior data leadership roles within complex IT or technology-driven organisations.
You bring deep expertise in data governance, architecture, and engineering principles, with a strong focus on enabling scalable technology solutions and AI driven innovation.
You are hands-on with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Collibra, Denodo or similar.
You are a structured and proactive professional who thrives in a dynamic environment.
You are an excellent communicator, able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You hold a relevant degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or equivalent through experience.
You are fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus.
