Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
The location of this role will be San Francisco, Sunnyvale or Mountain View.
The Strategic Finance Center of Excellence (COE) is a newly formed team focused on centralizing, standardizing, and modernizing key financial operations to unlock scale, accuracy, and strategic capacity across LinkedIn. As we build for the future, this team will act as business process owners, driving design and continuous improvement across high-impact financial workflows such as headcount forecasting and position management. The associate will be primarily focused on expense management workstreams to begin, with additional scope coming over time. This team will also support the discovery and adoption of new tools and tackle automation opportunities.
We are seeking a detail-oriented, process-minded Associate to join the COE. This individual will take end-to-end ownership of key operational workstreams—including headcount forecasting—by identifying inefficiencies, implementing scalable solutions, and embedding best practices across Finance. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complexity, enjoys solving operational challenges, and excels at transforming fragmented, siloed processes into structured, scalable workflows through thoughtful design and cross-functional partnership.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Thinking
Contributes to strategy development with business partners, within a limited scope.
Begins to validate and execute routine pressure testing of growth opportunities.
Operationalizes ideas and develops plans for execution with support from more senior team members.
Supports collaborative relationships with other teams and utilizes input and feedback to develop an understanding of their priorities and constraints.
Stakeholder Influence
Communicates implications of work (e.g., forecasts, analyses, trends) to management and cross-functional stakeholders with the necessary business context.
Leverages insights and data to develop narratives to influence stakeholders with some guidance.
Synthesizes problems and communicates point of view to support decision-making on issues related to individual work in smaller group discussions.
Execution & Organization
Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to support the growth of initiatives by providing a metrics-oriented perspective, with some supervision.
Communicates with stakeholders to answer a variety of questions.
Develops standard workstreams and operational processes according to defined procedures.
Begins to identify obstacles within immediate scope and makes recommendations.
Headcount Forecasting & Management
Owns and supports the end-to-end headcount forecast process by creating, maintaining, and updating complex headcount and hiring models and forecasts.
Drives data synthesis and analysis by accessing, transforming, and synthesizing data from cross-platform sources to assess signals, trends, and risks, with occasional support from more senior team members.
Develops strategic hypotheses by leveraging comprehensive financial and operational knowledge to identify potential causes of variance using identified signals, trends, and risks.
Executes advanced ad hoc analyses to prove/disprove hypotheses and address complex, well-defined business questions, deriving actionable insights and clear recommendations from results.
Leads cross-functional collaboration to design and implement experiments or solutions to close deviations from targets, particularly within the scope of headcount and staffing models.
