About the role

Our client owns and manages a collection of high-end, boutique hotels in the UK and internationally. Many of the London properties are housed in listed buildings, each full of character and individuality, with creative charm woven throughout their décor, rooms, and menus.

This role will initially focus on the UK hotels, with clear potential to expand internationally across the wider portfolio. You will lead the engineering function across the London properties, ensuring buildings and systems are safe, compliant, and well-maintained.

About you

We’re seeking an accomplished Director of Engineering , experienced in a hotel environment with a strong background in engineering. You will have experience managing multi-site operations, leading teams, overseeing contractors, and delivering capital and maintenance programmes. You’ll bring technical expertise and leadership to guide strategy, ensure compliance, and support the smooth running of the hotels.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the engineering and facilities function across the London portfolio
Oversee maintenance, compliance, and capital projects
Manage and mentor on-site engineering teams and contractors
Develop and deliver annual maintenance and CAPEX plans
Manage health & safety, risk registers, and compliance requirements
Work closely with General Managers and Group leadership to align operations with business objectives
Champion energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
Respond to critical situations as needed
