Job Title: Technician – Shared Services/Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid – 3+ days onsite per week)
Pay Rate: $25–$28/hour
Duration: 6-month contract
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Technician – Shared Services to support core accounting, reconciliation, and fraud prevention activities within a fast-paced shared services environment. This is a hybrid role requiring regular onsite presence in our Montreal office.
About the Role
In this position, you will play a key role in enterprise fraud prevention, financial data validation, and shared services processing. You will work closely with internal systems and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of financial records.
Key Responsibilities
Document & Data Processing (40%)
Match source documents with internal procure-to-pay and sales workflows, review vendor and customer receiving documents, submit updates, and maintain master data accuracy.
Fraud Prevention Support (25%)
Assist with vendor bank validation and other fraud prevention measures.
Payments & Banking (20%)
Process manual payments and collections (ACH, wire, credit card), and prepare online banking requests through secure bank portals.
Vendor & Stakeholder Support (5%)
Respond to ad hoc vendor inquiries, assist with statement audits, confirmations, and reconciliation of balances.
Systems & Testing (5%)
Participate in SAP User Acceptance Testing related to shared services processes.
Additional Duties (5%)
Perform general clerical, recordkeeping, reconciliation, and project-based tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in computerized accounting or shared services processing
Experience in a mid-size or large organization preferred; utilities industry experience is an asset
Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of enterprise purchasing systems, including purchase requisitions and purchase orders
Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in vendor management and customer service
Bilingual in French and English
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, and professional
