Systems Engineer | 12 Month Contract | £350 p/d PAYE | Onsite Cambridge

Role Overview:

One of the world’s largest social media brands is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team working on next-generation immersive technology. You will play a key role in building, maintaining, and improving complex audio data collection systems used in cutting-edge research.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art lab environment, supporting prototype devices and large-scale data capture systems. You’ll be solving real-world technical challenges across hardware, software, and networking in a highly innovative setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up, configure, and test audio equipment, prototype devices, and capture systems
Manage and maintain device networks and infrastructure
Support and run multimodal data collection sessions
Troubleshoot issues across hardware, software, and network systems
Develop scripts and tools (Python) to improve efficiency and automation
Contribute to system improvements and overall lab operations

Responsibilities and Requirements:

Proven experience in systems integration (hardware + software + networking)
Strong understanding of networking concepts and device configuration
Hands-on experience with audio equipment or audio data systems
Experience with Python, scripting, and Linux environments
Background working with complex technical systems and troubleshooting
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Contract Details:

£350 p/d PAYE
On-site working (Cambridge, 5 days/week)
12 Month Contract
