The Role
Are you looking for a temporary role for 3-6 months? Here at Survitec, we are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join the RFD Beaufort Division based in Ellesmere Port.
The Assistant Accountant will carry out varied accounting tasks and assignments including compilation, consolidation and analysis of financial data.
Key responsibilities for the Assistant Accountant role include but are not limited to:
Carries out a range of accounting activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the compilation, consolidation and analysis of financial data.
Tracks progress against budgets within established finance systems and reports variances as appropriate, ensuring compliance with local market financial laws, requirements and regulations
Implements aspects of the global Survitec control framework, developing and maintaining financial controls
Collates and analyses data using standard accounting methodologies, systems, tools and formats to deliver high quality monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting to the business, under varying degrees of supervision
Produces key financial data and documents including aspects of Survitec statutory accounts; monthly reporting, budgeting and reforecast processes; monthly management accounts pack (including commentary and analysis for key business stakeholders); and monthly balance sheet production, reconciliation and validation
Participates in the monthly accounting cycle, including assisting with the organisation and co-ordination of the month end process and associated Board reports
Carries out checks to ensure the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues, providing assurance to Survitec business and Finance management that the accounting records of the local entities are accurate
Gathers and summarises data for non-standard analyses and reports, improvement projects and programmes, under varying levels of support
Receives and manages accounting queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring to others where necessary for interpretation of policy
Follows financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice. Ensures application of these through a positive, proactive, thorough and disciplined approach
